Palacongressi di Rimini opens its doors to every guest, including those with special needs, be they permanent or temporary. The venue was conceived without fences or gates, overlooking a city park from which you can easily reach the old town, as well as the beach. All entrances are step and barrier-free. From the underground car parks, the floors are accessible via lifts with Braille indications to the accreditation areas. Movable furniture, large and flexible spaces, rooms with ramps and stairlifts for access to the stages. The outdoor areas are fitted for sporting activities, exercises, exhibitions, and catering services offering healthy menus, respecting any food allergies or intolerances.
"The best testimony to the accessibility of our venue is the staging of ExpoAid 2023, the first and largest national event dedicated to disabilities. 1,500 participants gathered in Rimini in September for a plenary event of training and information, with practical activities and workshops in a large, adjacent expo area. Signage for the visually impaired was present on all steps and stairs, throughout the services and in car parks, ushers on doors, all entrances, rooms and stages accessible with aids and movable furniture for maximum freedom for each and every participant.
Outdoor exercises with guide dogs and a motor therapy show. The project, created by Ega Worldwide for the Ministry for Disabilities, with the collaboration of the Municipality of Rimini, also included a range of activities in the local area. Shuttle services facilitated the movement of guests from the Palacongressi to the port area where the stage for the show was set up and then back to the hotels. The whole event received numerous awards at the ADC Group's Best Event Awards. And we are proud to have been part of this winning team!"
