Thanks to the advanced technology and services of the Palacongressi, Meeting 2020 carried out its traditional annual event with a full range of meetings, shows and exhibits in hybrid format, with guests both present in the venue and via digital streaming.

An efficient flow management platform ensured the safety of participants and staff throughout the facility, not only during the event but also during set up and take down activities.
A safe meeting
Temperature checks for everyone at the entrances, and masks were of course, mandatory. It was also necessary to show the QR code previously received online with accreditation in order to access the various meetings and the exhibits in the halls.
The organizers had integrated their own flow management platform for event registration with that of the Palacongressi. Each person was monitored continuously from the moment they registered on the Meeting website, to when they entered and then left the rooms. The purpose of this was to control the presences in accordance with the health guidelines in force.
TV set
The Tempio and Piazza rooms were set up as TV studios with our innovative digital event format, "Live to OOOH!" that enabled us to have remote guests interact with speakers on the stage in front of the audience.
The event manager's strategy
"The first edition of the Meeting was held at the Palacongressi di Rimini way back in 1980. Since then, we have built up a relationship of trust between our Division and the Meeting Foundation, Friendships among Peoples that has united us for 40 years and this year, that bond has been strengthened even further. In May, when the Covid situation forced us to rethink our formats and we started to propose digital events, the Meeting didn’t hesitate in choosing the Palacongressi for its first ever completely virtual event, followed up in July by a hybrid presentation of the successful 2020 Special Edition that took place from August 18-23. So, in the end, the Meeting came full circle, back to where it had taken its first steps, thanks to the advanced technology and safe business protocol adopted by the venue. A formula that is quite similar to the traditional one, with the irreplaceable pleasure of meeting each other and forming human relations”.
