"Innovative, interesting, brave, outstanding". These were just some of the words participants at the "51st ANMCO National Congress" - National Association of Hospital Cardiologists used to define the Rimini event held at the Palacongressi at the end of August. A conference that the association was very keen to organize and which was created in a hybrid format with participants in-person and via digital connections.

The venue’s flexibility and the network infrastructure ensured that activities were carried out in a traditional, yet innovative way. 4 rooms were set up for spaced sessions with speakers and participants in-person as well as being equipped for live connections. In 9 rooms, also set up for in-person attendance, recorded speeches were broadcast which were also available on demand from home. A TV studio setting in sala del Tempio also offered the ideal stage for interviews with speakers and guests.
Safety first
The large, open spaces of the location enabled efficient people flow management in maximum safety. The area under the large shell was the ideal spot for outdoor temperature checks, as well as accreditation and attendance monitoring. The common areas had plenty of hand sanitizing points, directions for the correct routes to take, and physical distancing signage in the food halls.
The exhibit area
The sala della Piazza hosted the conference’s customary exhibit space with over 20 stands. This year, the standard exhibit format was enriched with a virtual one. That way, registered guests could browse the conference site, "meeting" and chatting with exhibitors.
The event manager's angle
"The ANMCO conference was the 1st cardiology medical conference in Italy after the Covid lockdown. It was also an important moment for our Event & Conference Division because it was the result of a great team effort. ANMCO president, Dr. Domenico Gabrielli and the Board of Directors strongly believed in going ahead with the organization of the congress in Rimini and so, with our partners, and Adriacongrex who managed the organizational secretariat, we put all our experience and professionalism on the table, proposing a safety protocol from Day 1 that ensured first and foremost, the maximum protection of all the people involved and guaranteed at all times a working environment that respected the health regulations. The venue’s pioneering technology and flexibility did the rest, repaying the faith of an organizer who did a great job of making an event that has taken place in Rimini since 2016 and that will return to the Palacongressi for the 2021 edition".
