An international appointment originally planned as an in-person event, but that ended up as a virtual one.

Our point of view
The International Strawberry Symposium arrived in Rimini in 2016 thanks to the efforts of Prof. Bruno Mezzetti from the Polytechnic University of Marche, of CREA Frutticola of Forlì, of Macfrut and of our IEG division. The congress was scheduled for May 2020 with sessions and experiential tours around the country. Rimini was the obvious choice also for its geographical position, easily reachable from everywhere and a central hub between north and south, where field trips would take place.
With the onset of the pandemic, first we decided to postpone the Symposium to 2021, then to change the project from physical to hybrid and subsequently to digital. The flexibility and technological equipment of the Palacongressi combined with the professional staff guaranteed the swift transformation of the format. The inaugural ceremony took place at the Palacongressi, from where on-site speakers reached a number of participants in China via streaming.
Thanks to the use of a personalized digital platform created by the Palacongressi in collaboration with Alterecho, one of our accredited partners, together with the organizers and AIM Group International, we created a virtual edition of the Symposium at which participants, in every part of the world, could access the accreditation desk, the seminar session, the expo area and the poster area, all from their computers. As real as any traditional congress.
The experience accumulated in these months of major transformation and continuous evolution, together with the team's ability to be flexible and to create a system, has enabled us to offer timely solutions and increasingly effective advice that meet the needs of every type of event.
